Orchard fabric specifications are significantly heavy-duty.The weight is generally above 110 gsm,commonly 120 gsm,140 gsm,150 gsm,or even higher.Widths are typically larger,such as 2 meters,2.5 meters,3 meters,3.2 meters,to adapt to different tree spacings.The material must be virgin polymer to ensure long-term strength.The color is mostly black.Key indicators like breaking strength(MD/CD)are often required to be≥10 kN/m or higher.Some products use multi-filament or reinforced weaving for even greater strength.The expected UV-resistant service life is typically promised to be 3-5 years.
This product is primarily used for tree basin coverage or entire-row coverage in various orchards.For example,in high-density dwarf orchards like blueberries,grapes,and kiwifruit,entire rows are often covered.In tree fruit orchards like apples,pears,citrus,and peaches,square or round mats are commonly used to cover the tree basin area.During installation,a cross-shaped cut is usually made at the trunk location,the fabric is placed around the base of the trunk,and the edges are securely fastened with U-pins or ground staples.It effectively prevents weed growth around the trunk,reducing competition for water and nutrients,while avoiding potential herbicide damage to the trunk.It also keeps the orchard floor tidy,facilitating mechanical operations and manual harvesting.
