The main advantages are ultra-low cost and very high water permeability.Due to its thinness,water and air pass through almost unimpeded.It effectively blocks sunlight,preventing the germination of annual weed seeds.Its minimal weight makes laying and retrieval very easy.Suitable for seasonal applications where durability is not a primary concern.
Very lightweight,around 50g/㎡,with a thickness of about 0.08mm.Available in standard widths,but mechanical strength is low(breaking strength~3kN/m),making it susceptible to piercing by sharp objects.UV resistance is also relatively weak,resulting in a shorter designed service life.
Commonly used for inter-row coverage in short-cycle crops like vegetables and strawberries.Also used in landscaping,laid beneath bark mulch,wood chips,or gravel to enhance weed suppression and prevent the mulch from mixing with the soil.Its low cost makes it popular for one-off or short-term projects.
