The key feature is biodegradability,meeting organic and environmental certification requirements.Initially,it provides weed suppression comparable to plastic fabrics.Over time,exposure to soil temperature,moisture,and microbes causes its molecular chains to break down completely,leaving no plastic pollution.The decomposition process can even add a small amount of organic matter to the soil.
The material is primarily PLA or blended with other natural fibers.Grammage is around 110g/㎡.Due to different material density,it is slightly thicker than plastic fabrics,at about 0.18mm.Its tensile strength is relatively lower,typically 5-7kN/m,and it is not suitable for heavy machinery.The degradation period can be adjusted via formula,usually between 12 to 24 months.
Used primarily in areas with high environmental standards,such as organic vegetable farming,strawberry cultivation,herbal medicine gardens,and ecological restoration projects.It is particularly suitable for short-growth-cycle crops;after harvest,the fabric has largely decomposed and can be tilled into the soil without laborious removal.It is an ideal choice for sustainable agriculture.
