The non-woven structure gives it excellent water permeability and filtration.Rainwater penetrates directly without causing surface runoff.The interlocking fiber pores effectively block light,providing thorough weed suppression.Compared to woven fabric,it is softer and conforms better to uneven ground.Additionally,it provides some thermal insulation,raising soil temperature in winter to protect plant roots.
Common grammage is 100g/㎡.However,due to its fluffy structure,its thickness is much greater than woven fabric,reaching over 0.8mm.Standard widths are 1m,1.6m,and 2m.Longitudinal breaking strength is about 4kN/m,and transverse is about 3kN/m;mechanical strength is lower than woven fabric,requiring careful installation.Water permeability can reach 20L/㎡/s vertically.
Widely used for covering seedbeds,as a liner for potted plants,as a weed suppression layer under landscape ornamentation,and for winter protection of nursery stock.Inside greenhouses,it can be used on walkways or planting beds to maintain a clean,dry environment.Its high permeability also makes it suitable for use as a filter layer in drainage ditches.
